My sweet friend Amy let me borrow some Spectrum Noir markers to see what I think, since I don't have any Copic markers yet. She lent me two packages, one in yellows and one in browns. I love this sweet reindeer from Hero Arts, and thought he would be the perfect image to practice coloring with these new markers. Small enough to not overwhelm, but with some room for shading. It was fun to play around with the different shades of brown and find just the right ones.
Hello - I went crafty shopping with my Mom today at Impress. I found this cute little skeleton stamp and just had to have him. I embossed him in white and added a fun sentiment for a quick and easy Halloween card! What do you think??
Hope you are having a good day! Thanks for stopping by.
Hello - another card to post for today! I have had a lot of fun crafting this weekend :) This card was made using the new Lawn Fawn set - Sweater Weather. What a great set this is. The tree is so fun and can be used for any season, not just fall. The little leaves are perfect for creating that 'pile of leaves' look. It comes with some other leave shapes, a little acorn and an apple! And the frame is too cute! I'm sure I will be using this set a lot!
This card is going to one my friends from college. We are still close, even after 20 plus years! (Now I feel old) Happy Birthday Julie!
Hero Arts is having a contest over on its blog. It is all about getting into the Christmas spirit. They have 4 different themes you can choose from and one of them is 'White Out' where you make a card that is mostly white.
I created this card with the Hero Arts/Sizzix snowflake embossing folder. I embossed the snowflake onto some vellum and attached it to a white card base. I wasn't quite sure how the vellum would emboss, but I like the way it turned out. Very elegant. What do you think? Thanks for looking! -Laura
I just love the sketch over at clean and simple, so I made another card - this time flipping the sketch.I used balloons instead of ornaments, but I think it works! The balloons were cut from My Minds Eye Bluebell 6 X 6 paper pack with the Avery Elle Balloons die. The set includes the cute little confetti pieces die as well.
This card was inspired by the sketch over at Clean and Simple. Once I saw the sketch, I knew exactly what stamp set I was going to use. This is an old SU set called Ornamassortment. I just love the little ornaments in it. I white embossed them onto some vellum and then colored the back of the vellum with real red and old olive markers. The patterned paper is Holly Argyle from Provo Craft, and I added a strip of American Craft glitter tape to finish it off.
This was a fun card to make and such a great sketch to follow. Thanks for stopping by! -Laura
I'm sharing a card I made for CASology's cue card this week which is CHOCOLATE! Who doesn't love chocolate?? I know I do...
I used the super cute Lawn Fawn Here's the Scoop set and stamped the ice cream cone with Fresh Ink putty and the scoops in HA Cup o' Joe ink. The little cherry on top was added with Memento Lady Bug ink. I popped up the stitched tag on a kraft base to help tie in the chocolate color.
I also made a card for the new Poppy Sketches challenge this week where the pops of color were Fresh Fig, Pale Purple and Forest Green. I didn't have those exact colors, but did my best with patterned paper and some cute epoxy stickers.
Happy World Cardmaking Day! What a fun day to celebrate the love of papercrafting and card making. I was lucky enough to join a group of crafty friends and spend the afternoon talking, eating, laughing - oh and making a couple of cards too!
My first card features Stampin Up's White Christmas stamp set. I created the panel with the Lil Inkers stitched rectangle die. Then I stamped the trees and colored the background with a soft blue copic marker. I added the snowman with dimensionals. I thought it was so cute that he was looking up at his new friend in the tree! This set has a lot of cute images - so many possibilities. Thanks Kimberly for letting me use it!!
My second card is from Neat & Tangled. The turkey from the Turkey Talk set is just so cute! I paired him with some fun autumn leaf patterned paper and colored his tail feathers to match. I love the sentiment! I am linking this up to Neat & Tangled Anything goes challenge. (Thanks Amy!) I am also adding this to Virginia's View Challenge. Her theme this month is Clean and Simple!
Big thanks to Amy for hosting and to Tonya, Kimberly, and Lisa for such a fun day! Hope you got to have some fun on World Cardmaking Day too!
