Today I am sharing a cute card I made for a couple who is tying the knot this weekend. I wasn't quite sure what kind of card I wanted to make, so I browsed Pintrest looking for ideas. The two types of cards that caught my eye the most were those with a wedding cake and those with a cute bride and groom. So I combined the two and made a wedding cake topper out of the owl punch from SU. I don't think these owls will ever get old - they are just so cute!
The bride's dress was made with silver glitter paper and I added some rhinestones to her head for a tiara. The groom's tux was made with a white and a black 'owl belly', with the black one folded over for the lapels. The cake was dry embossed with a swirly embossing folder and I added some little flowers tinged with pink and with pearls in the middle. I think it turned out super cute and I hope the real bride and groom like it as well.
It might not be quite CAS enough, but I am entering it into CASology's current challenge where the cue card is Wedding.
Hope you are all enjoying a nice Memorial Day weekend.
Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteVery clever. There are so many ways one can use the owl punch and Pinterest has many ideas. The embossed piece makes for a perfect cake.
ReplyDeleteLaura, this is so fantastic! Just having the owls in their stunning outfits would be adorable enough, but having them look at each other makes this THE BEST!! Hugs, Darnell
