Hero Arts Scramble

I was the hostess for the Hero Arts Scramble over on Flickr today.  What a great time we had.  I choose a theme of 'STARS' to go with the 4th of July Holiday that is quickly approaching.  The players had to create a card that somehow incorporated a star or stars. It could be a stamp, a die cut, a stencil, star washi tape, or just simple star embellishments.  They had 90 minutes to make their card, photograph it and post it to the flickr site.  I love these scrambles because it is so fun to know that you are creating with others from around the world at the same time!  Here are the sample cards I made for inspiration for the scramble.

On this first card I clear embossed the HA Starry Sky BG stamp and then watercolored distress inks over the top.  I used Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass inks.  The sentiment is from the HA set Shoot for the Moon.

The second card used a star stencil.  I think it was a Heidi Swapp stencil I got at Micheal's. I stamped the HA bicycle and then added the stars behind it, like they were coming off the bike.  I used Salty Ocean and Barn Door inks.  The sentiment is Hero Arts.

My last card used star embellishments.  I love these little wooden stars from Studio Calico.  To make the background, I used a technique I learned from Jennifer McGuire, offsetting the stamp when stamping the second time.  I used the HA Tiny Flags BG stamp in Soft Pool and Tide Pool ink.  The sentiment is from the HA clear set It's All Good.

If you have never played in a scramble before, you should give it a try!  They are always fun and the inspiration is great!  HA Flickr group holds them every couple of weeks, and there are prizes!!
